Excelsus Filter Blocks RF Interference to DSL Modems; L-222RJDP Ensures Highest Data Rates and Prevents Modem Connection Failures

SAN DIEGO--Aug. 1, 20049, 2004--Pulse(R), a Technitrol Company, introduces the Excelsus(R) L-222RJDP radio frequency interference (RFI) filter that optimizes DSL modem performance by blocking interference from AM/FM/HAM radio, televisions, home network devices and other RF sources. It prevents RF interference that can degrade voiceband quality, reduce broadband data rates, trigger answering machines and cause modem connection failures, thus ensuring fast data downloads and clear telephone voice quality when the DSL modem is in use. The RFI filter also removes the differential imbalances caused by RF sources. It has a frequency range of 100 kilohertz to 10 megahertz and attenuation of 0 to -50 decibels, depending on frequency.

Basic RF filters usually connect to a television and filter radio noise out of the video signal. The L-222RJDP is designed specifically for DSL modems. It can be used in conjunction with other Z-BLOCKER(R) DSL filters distributed throughout the subscriber's premises for isolating DSL service from RFI and voiceband equipment devices including wired/cordless telephones, fax/answering machines, dial-up modems and automatic dialers.

The filter is easily installed and works with any DSL modem. There are two jacks, one connecting to the phone line and the other to the modem. The filter plugs into a grounded U.S. power outlet and includes a 7-foot twisted-pair cable (model CSPT-7) for optimum data transmission. Voiceband and DSL signals pass through it unaffected. The filter is compatible with Full Rate DSL, G.Lite DSL, V.90 and Metallic Loop Testing. Compliance and listings include FCC CFR 47 Part 68, CS03, UL 1950 and CSA C22.2 950-95. A standard 12-month Pulse warranty is included.

The L-222RJDP will be available in September to customers in North America, since it is designed specifically for U.S. power outlets. Customers may purchase it online through the Excelsus Online Store, www.excelsus-tech.com, for $29.99.

To request more information or details, customers can contact the Excelsus Sales Department in North America at 760-476-1511 or e-mail sales@excelsus-tech.com.
