"Pikes Peak was my last race last season before my surgery, and we didn't do too badly
considering the physical condition I was in. I'm looking forward to going back there, and
hopefully we can have another strong run on a one-mile track. I won the last time we were on a
short track, so we'll see what happens."

Franchitti has one previous appearance at PPIR, starting seventh and finishing fourth in
2003.
Franchitti earned his first IndyCar Series victory at Milwaukee on July 25.
Franchitti's win at Milwaukee was his second oval-track win of his career.
Franchitti's winning effort at Milwaukee marked the second IRL IndyCar Series victory by
the ArcaEx team, as they also won at Kansas in July, 2003, with driver Bryan Herta at the
wheel.
Franchitti has recorded three top-five finishes this season (Milwaukee - 1st, Texas - 2nd,
Kansas - 4th).
Franchitti earned his first MBNA Pole Award when he qualified on pole position at Texas.

oval at Milwaukee and have had very strong results on the other short ovals this season, so
