Camp Jeep(R) California Kicks Off this Week in the Santa Ynez Mountains

WHAT: Camp Jeep(R) California, the annual Camp Jeep summertime gathering of Jeep enthusiasts from around the country. More than 3,000 participants and 1,000 Jeep vehicles are expected at the first Camp Jeep to be held in California. This weekend event includes more than 150 activities for the entire family. The highlight: Jeep 101, a series of specially constructed courses designed to teach off-highway driving, safety skills and demonstrate the Trail Rated(R) capabilities of the Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Liberty and Jeep Grand Cherokee. Another first: a special area devoted to the music, food, history and art unique to California's Hispanic culture. (It will be located in Expression Village.) Entertainment includes performances by Los Lobos on Friday afternoon, and LIVE on Saturday afternoon, August 20 and 21.

WHERE: Santa Ynez Mountains, California - Take US-101 to Alisos Canyon Road, which is between Buellton and Santa Maria. Take Alisos Canyon Road approximately 11 miles until it dead ends into Foxen Canyon Road. Turn left on Foxen Canyon Road and go approximately 3.5 miles to the Camp Jeep California site. There will be signs to direct you as you get closer to the entrance. Reporters should go to the Media Tent near the entrance for information.
