Mustang Mania Takes Over Houston August 20th
DEARBORN, Mich., Aug. 13, 2004 -- The all-new 2005 Mustang will debut on the streets of Houston on Friday, August 20th, when Ford vice president Tony Brown will drive the latest Pony Car into Minute Maid Park before the Houston Astros vs. Chicago Cubs game.
Tony Brown, vice president - global purchasing, Ford Motor Company, has responsibility for the procurement of more than $90 billion of parts, commodities and services annually for all of Ford's brands worldwide. In Texas alone, Brown and his team oversee the annual purchasing of nearly $1 billion of goods and services from more than 300 suppliers. Brown was recently recognized by Fortune Magazine as one of the 50 Most Powerful Black Executives in Corporate America. Under his management, Ford's Supplier Diversity Development program spent $3.2 billion on products and services from nearly 300 minority-owned suppliers in 2003.
In addition to the 2005 Mustang, Brown will also unveil the new Ford flagship sedan, the Five Hundred, and the Ford Freestyle that bridges the gap between a sedan and a traditional sport-utility. The three vehicles will be on display at Minute Maid Park from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 20, as part of Ford's "Year of the Car Tour."
