RINGERS GLOVES  WEEKEND WRAP-UP 
Brickyard  400 Weekend 

Indianapolis – (August 9, 2004)  The drivers of the NASCAR  Craftsman Truck 
Series, Busch Series and Nextel Cup Series made their annual  visit to the 
racing capital of the world (Indianapolis) over the  weekend. 
The Craftsman Truck Series and  Busch Series drivers took to the .686-mile 
oval at Indianapolis Raceway Park on  Friday and Saturday for Kroger Speedfest, 
while the Nextel Cup racers visited  the famed 2.5-mile Indianapolis Motor 
Speedway for the 11th annual  Brickyard 400. 
On Friday, the Ringers teams of  Orleans Racing and SS Racing (regularly an 
ASA team) competed in the Power  Stroke Diesel 200 for the second night of 
Kroger  Speedfest. 
Both teams advanced three  positions better than their starting ones to 
finish out the race.   The Orleans Racing team started  25th and finished 22nd, 
while Butch Miller and the SS  Racing/TimberWolf Chevrolet made their first Truck 
Series start of the year in  27th and finished 24th. 
Saturday night wrapped up the  festivities of Kroger Speedfest with the 
Kroger 250 and the stars of the NASCAR  Busch Series. 
Reed Sorenson, another ASA  National Tour regular, made his Busch Series 
debut for Chip Ganassi Racing.  Sorenson qualified in the third spot and  was able 
to bring home his first top-15 finish of his Busch Series career,  finishing 
in 13th. 
The #87 and #88 teams of NEMCO  Motorsports finished 33rd and 39th,  
respectively. 
On Sunday, the drivers of Penske  Racing South competed in the 11th annual 
Brickyard 400, but only one  of the drivers crossed the yard of bricks a lap  
161. 
On lap 95, Brendan Gaughan was  involved in an accident that ended his day 
earlier than expected.  Gaughan was scored 35th in  the end. 
Ryan Newman had a top-10  qualifying effort in seventh, but also didn’t have 
the day he planned  on. 
On lap 154, Newman and rookie  Brian Vickers got together that ended Newman’s 
day six laps early.  He was scored in the 31st  position. 
Rusty Wallace was the only Penske  Racing South driver to drive his car to 
the finish. 
Early on, Wallace suffered minor  damage from an eight-car wreck involving 
Scott  Riggs. 
Wallace finished  13th. 
The Nextel Cup Series and the  Penske Racing South drivers head to Watkins 
Glen this  weekend.
