Aisin Develops the World's First 6-Speed Automatic Transmission for Light Duty Trucks
Tokyo (JCNN) - Aisin Seiki has developed the world's first 6-speed automatic transmission for light duty (2-4 tons) trucks.
The transmission has adopted a newly developed lock-up torque converter to enable improved fuel efficiency, acceleration, and driving power.
About the size of a conventional compact 4-speed automatic transmission, the 6-speed transmission has been installed in DYNA and TOYOACE, Toyota vehicles released in April, HINO DUTRO, as well as FE 120/145/180, vehicles sold in North America by Mitsubishi Fuso.
