Suzuki to Road-test Fuel Cell Vehicle with GM's New 700-bar Hydrogen Storage System
Tokyo (JCNN) - Suzuki Motor has announced that the new 700-bar hydrogen storage system that its alliance partner General Motors has co-developed with Quantum of the U.S. has been approved by the High Pressure Gas Safety Institute of Japan.
Accordingly, Suzuki plans to newly road-test a fuel cell vehicle using this new hydrogen tank technology within the year.
The new 700-bar hydrogen storage system features a one-piece permeation-resistant seamless liner, a high-performance carbon composite over-wrap for strength, and a proprietary impact-resistant outer shell.
