Lear Corporation Names Phyllis Golden Morey Vice President and Chief Litigation and Compliance Counsel

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Aug. 9, 2004 -- Lear Corporation today announced that Phyllis Golden Morey has been named Vice President and Chief Litigation and Compliance Counsel. Morey reports to Daniel A. Ninivaggi, Senior Vice President, Secretary and General Counsel.

Morey assumes a leadership position at Lear as a result of her extensive legal and commercial experience, both in the southeast Michigan business community and specifically, the automotive industry. She joins Lear following a six-year career at Ford Motor Company where she most recently served as Director of Corporate Compliance, preceded by a career as Corporate Counsel at Ameritech Corporation in Detroit.

Prior to these corporate positions, Morey was a litigation partner at the Detroit law firm of Pepper, Hamilton & Scheetz, from 1992 - 1995. She also served as an Asst. U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of Michigan (Detroit). Morey earned a bachelor's degree from Memphis State University in 1978 and a J.D. degree from the University of Tennessee in 1981.
