Image Innovations Holdings Inc.'s Retained and Renowned Artist Carlo Beninati Appointed to Create Official Art for Brickyard 400
INDIANAPOLIS, Aug. 6, 2004 -- Acclaimed artist Carlo Beninati has been named the Official Artist of the 11th annual Brickyard 400 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race, and he will create the Official Artwork for the event, Indianapolis Motor Speedway officials announced July 23.
Beninati's artwork will be used to create the Official 11th Brickyard 400 Program cover and Official Poster. The Brickyard 400 is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 8 on the historic, 2.5-mile oval at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Kevin Harvick will attempt to become the first driver to win the race two years in a row.
"We are excited that Carlo Beninati will be the Official Artist of the Brickyard 400," said Joie Chitwood, senior vice president of business affairs for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. "We are confident that Carlo's style will capture all the energy of Race Day."
An acclaimed artist, Beninati is dedicated to documenting the history of human accomplishment -- remarkable people, historical events and the wonders of the world -- through innovative fine art. He has been commissioned by Fortune 500 companies, political, entertainment and sports personalities.
Beninati's artwork also has been included in prestigious public and private collections and is prominently displayed by collectors, galleries, and museums worldwide. He has produced incredible works of art to celebrate some of the greatest sporting legends of our time, including Alex Rodriguez, Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Joe DiMaggio and many others.
Most recently, Beninati was commissioned to produce an exclusive collector's series of 10 limited-edition prints of NASCAR NEXTEL Cup drivers, which will be autographed by both the artist and driver. The print of the first driver depicted in the series -- Mark Martin, driver of the No. 6 Viagra Ford for Roush Racing -- has just been released.
"I am so honored to have been selected by the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to commemorate the 11th running of the Brickyard 400," Beninati said from his studio in Chicago. "I hope that my artwork will capture the magic, energy and great thrill of this historic NASCAR NEXTEL Cup race."
