Lexus Sales on Record-Breaking Pace With Best-Ever July
TORRANCE, Calif., Aug. 3, 2004 -- Continuing with its record- breaking sales pace, Lexus today posted best-ever July sales of 25,123 vehicles, up 8.0 percent from July 2003 and representing its thirteen consecutive month of record sales.
"July was a good start for the third quarter from the manufacturing side, and the outlook continues to be very encouraging as new orders and production accelerated during the month," said Denny Clements, Lexus group vice president and general manager. "The combination of higher business spending plus strong corporate profits continue to support moderate job growth which, in turn, would help raise consumer spending in coming quarters," he said.
Lexus passenger car sales were up 6.8 percent with total sales of 12,160. The ES 330 luxury sedan posted July sales of 6,673, up 13.8 percent. Sales of the LS 430 flagship luxury sedan increased 39.6 percent, with 2,671 units sold.
Lexus luxury utility vehicles reported best-ever July sales of 12,963, up 9.2 percent. The RX 330 luxury SUV recorded best-ever July sales of 9,490, an increase of 9.2 percent. The GX 470 mid-size luxury SUV posted best-ever July sales of 2,817, up 12.9 percent.
Lexus strong July sales results lifted total new vehicle calendar-year-to-date (CYTD) sales by 14.8 percent.
In addition to strong new vehicles sales, Lexus Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) vehicles posted record sales of 4,488 for the month, an increase of .04 percent over the same period last year. CPO sales are up 8.4 percent CYTD.
