Royal Tire Deploys CarParts Technologies' Tradera Inventory Management System and Ecommerce Platform to Improve Customer Service and Increase Growth
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif.--Aug. 3, 2004--Leading Tire Wholesaler and Provider of Commercial Tire Services Deploys Microsoft-based Platform Including Modern Accounting Back End |
CarParts Technologies Inc. (CPT), a leading provider of open, eCommerce business automation software solutions for the automotive aftermarket, today announced that Royal Tire, Minnesota's largest privately held independent retail, wholesale and commercial tire dealer, has deployed CarParts Technologies' Tradera(TM) 4.3 and OpenWebs(TM) 4.1 integrated software architecture.
CarParts Technologies' state-of-the-art OpenWebs Commerce Server and Tradera inventory management system have been deployed into Royal Tire's warehouse, commercial tire retread centers and its retail outlets. In addition Royal Tire will have the ability to receive electronic stock orders from independent tire and service outlets in its geographic markets that are running the CPT VAST Point-of-Sale (POS) system - a market-leading POS in over 2,000 multi-store tire and service outlets across the country.
"Applying this state-of-the-art technology will position us to take our business to an entirely new level," said Pat Duininck, president of Royal Tire. "We've already begun to see the breadth of information analysis and ease of access enabled by the Microsoft SQL database underlying CPT's architecture. Our staff can now dissect and review data with open industry tools like FRX and Crystal reports."
Based in St. Cloud, Minn., Royal Tire is a leader in commercial and passenger/light truck tire sales and service in the Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, North and South Dakota markets. Royal Tire represents major companies such as Bridgestone Firestone, Cooper, Bandag, Michelin and Toyo and delivers tires to over 750 retail outlets in the five states. Royal Tire also provides comprehensive tire services to over 500 truck fleets throughout the Midwest.
"We value the industry insight and partnership provided by the management team of Royal Tire," said Dave McCann, CEO of CarParts Technologies. "This latest deployment in the tire distribution channel strengthens CPT's market share across the tire and service aftermarket. Our latest release of Tradera 4.3 brings over 55 new process capabilities to the system and combined with our electronic restocking portal, OpenWebs, provides a significant increase in the level of customer service wholesalers can provide via Web services."
In addition to providing Royal Tire with new inventory management and Web ordering capabilities, CPT also provided new integration with two complementary application providers. First, CPT enabled workflow integration with the OpenRoads Retread Management System from Bandag Incorporated. This enables sales staff access to customer-specific retread information at the POS. Secondly, forecasting information is now exported and integrated to National Business Data System's functionally rich forecasting and replenishment engine, MARS.
"This new platform addresses key business processes we identified as necessary to improve, in order to support our next five years of growth," said Duininck. "By improving warehouse efficiency, the flow of retread data, customer restocking, and inventory replenishment forecasting, we believe we will be positioned to service our current customers better, and continue our expansion into other geographic markets."
