School Bus Racing Returns to SSP on Thursday Night NEWBERRYTOWN, PA (August 3, 2004) – This Thursday night, August 5, SSP will host the return of the Great American School Buses for Round III of 2004. Jarod Wintermyer of Etters and J.R. Rodriguez of Dover won the two previous School Bus races this year. More than 20 buses are expected to enter this week ’s 10 lap event. Also racing will be the 410 Sprint Cars, Xtreme Enduro Stock Cars and the INEX Legends Cars National Qualifer race. The winner of the Legends Car event will earn a provisional starting spot in the Dirt National Championship to be held in Lawrenceburg, Indiana from September 30 through October 2. Gates open in the pit area at 4:00 p.m. with the grandstand gates opening at 5:00 p.m. Warmups begin at 7:00 p.m. with racing beginning promptly at 7:30 p.m. Grandstand ticket prices are Adults (18 & older) $12.00; Teens (13-17) $8.00; Children (6-12) $4.00; and Children (5 & under) are free. SSP will continue its Repeat Fan Discount in which there will be a $2.00 discount for each person with a ticket stub from the July 29 event only. For example, $2.00 off an Adult ticket for August 5 with and Adult ticket stub from the July 29 event. Returning fans are encouraged to write their name, address and phone number on the back of the stub to be entered into a special drawing to be held at the end of the season. Prizes will be announced soon. Pit pass prices are $20.00 with a reduced price of $18.00 for all track license holders. A track license is $25.00 for the year. The raindate will be Sunday, August 8 with the same time schedule. The Susquehanna Speedway Park is located off I-83 to exit 32, then 1.4 miles NW on SR382 to York Road, then 1.3 miles south. SSP News and Notes: - The Faster Pastor Race originally scheduled for Thursday, August 5 has been postponed until Thursday, September 23 due to scheduling conflicts with many Vacation Bible Schools. - The Trail Motors Open Competition 358/360 Open Challenge Race paying $1,500 to win is scheduled for Thursday night, August 12 along with the Xtreme Enduro Stock Cars and the EMMR Vintage Cars and Williams Grove Old Timers Association. The winner of the first Trail Motors Open Comp Challenge Race on May 27, Brad McClelland of Westminster, Maryland, can pick up the $500 bonus if he can win this event as well. - The post season awards for the 2004 SSP 410 Sprint Car Points Championship will be three (3) 2005 Season Pit Passes for the championship team (Value = $1,500). Drivers finishing second through fifth will receive two (2) 2005 Season Pit Passes (Value = $1,000 per team). Drivers finishing sixth through tenth will receive one (1) 2005 Season Pit Pass (Value = $500 per team).
