CruiseCam(R) to Offer Video Solutions for Motorsports Applications
TROY, Mich., Aug. 3, 2004 -- CruiseCam International, Inc., the market leader in Mobile Integrated Video Recording Technology has announced an initiative to develop a seat mounted camera and recording system for motorsports applications.
D. Scott Watkins, CEO and President of CruiseCam stated, "Our patent portfolio encompasses cameras on or about the automotive seat. CruiseCam currently manufactures the only OEM seat mounted camera system for law enforcement and motorsports applications which are a natural progression in our product line-up."
"At this time, the only camera systems available are roll cage mounted or those provided by network television," said Watkins. "Motorsports now includes numerous racing series that do not require extensive roll cage systems or do not receive network television coverage. The benefits of having Incar(TM) video in a race car are significant and our product will offer all racers the opportunity to have access to Incar video. Our goal is to develop a safe, reliable and affordable camera system for professional and amateur race teams."
CruiseCam will begin development of its seat mounted motorsports camera system at the Grand American Road Racing Associations, EMCO Gears Road Racing Classic at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, August 6-8.
"We have formed a technical partnership with the #24 Specter Werkes GT Corvette in the Grand Am Rolex Series. Our engineers have installed a camera system to the Specter Werkes Corvette and we look forward to seeing the video from testing sessions and the race. Endurance racing will provide our engineers with an excellent venue for research and development," added Watkins.
CruiseCam also manufactures the SM2000 camera mount that attaches to the automotive headrest for automotive and video enthusiasts. Camera mounts may be purchased online at www.cruisecam.com .
