Stremme and the TRIMSPA X32 Dodge Qualify Well, Finish Up Front at Pikes Peak

Fountain, CO (August  1, 2004) – Team TRIMSPA driver David Stremme qualified 
third for Saturday’s  Gould’s Pump’s 250 at Pike’s Peak International  
Raceway. From the drop of the green Stremme fought a slight loose condition in  the 
center of the turns, falling to fifth by lap 29. However Stremme was able to  
maintain a top five position, restarting fifth after his first pit stop of 
the  day, under caution on lap 40. 
“I had another strong  car this weekend,” said Stremme, driver of the 
TRIMSPA X32 Dodge. “The TRIMSPA  team gave me excellent stops all day and we got a 
solid finish. After the races  we have had the last few weeks, we will take it.”
 
Stremme restarted in  ninth position on lap 90 after several cars opted for a 
different pit strategy  by not coming in or changing two tires instead of 
four. During the closing  stages Stremme was in second position on lap 118, 
stretching his fuel mileage to  the end of the race. With older tires than the rest 
of the field, Stremme held  on to finish seventh at the end of the day. The 
finish was Stremme’s ninth top  10 of the season, helping him maintain the 18th 
position in the Busch  Series points standings. 
“We lost some  positions on that last restart, we were really a fifth-place 
car,” said Stremme.  “I had to let off to keep from being wrecked and it cost 
us a couple of spots.  All-in-all it was still a good day for the TRIMSPA 
Dodge.” 
Stremme and Team  TRIMSPA will compete in the Kroger 200 at Indianapolis 
Raceway Park, just down the road from the famous  Indianapolis Motor Speedway, on 
Saturday, August 8th. The event will  be televised live at 8 p.m. eastern time 
on TNT and will broadcast nationally at  that same time on radio stations 
affiliated with Motor Racing Network (MRN) and  XM Satellite Radio Channel 144.
