NHRA O'Reilly Auto Parts Jr. Drag Racing League Western Conference Finals -FRIDAY Results from Bandimere Speedway in Denver, Colo.

> Final eliminations loom for eager jr. racers
> DENVER - After several days of preparation by racers and their families from NHRA> '> s South Central, West Central, Northwest and Pacific Divisions, the NHRA O> '> Reilly Auto Parts Jr. Drag Racing League Western Conference Finals completed the first round of eliminations today in it's eight classes.
>  Among the first round winners at this year> '> s event were defending NHRA O> '> Reilly Auto Parts Jr. Drag Racing League Western Conference Finals champs Jacob Burrow of Garland, Texas, Grant Snedeker of Chickasha, Okla., Amber Cherry of Bakersfield, Calif., Brittany Johnson of Palm Desert, Calif., and Amber Lockman of Wellington, Colo.  
> Included in the list of those defeated in the opening round of competition were defending Western Conference Finals champs Casey DePeel of Gladstone, Ore., and Mark Billings of Kansas City, Mo. 
> In addition to running eliminations, many of the participants and their families found time between rounds to visit the Motivational Tubing Fun Zone and JR Race Cars Manufactures Midway. 
> After racing was completed for the day, racers and their families made their way over to the Bandimere Speedway barbecue to fill up on hamburgers, hot dogs, ice cream and some cool drinks. Racers and their families then moved into the grandstands to watch the presentation of the special awards for Best Appearing Car, Best Appearing Crew, Best Appearing Crew, as well as the awards for Best Reaction Time and Closest to Dial. 
> The award for Best Appearing Car was given to 16 year old Katrina Billings of Kansas City, Mo. Earning the award for Best Appearing Crew was the team of jr. driver Savanna Rice of Lakewood, Colo., and her crew, Danny and Lisa Rice. Best Engineered Car went to the entry of 13 year old J.T. Goethe of Littleton, Colo.
