Chrysler Group Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle (CPOV) Year to Date Sales For 2004 Increase 13 Percent, Surpass Industry Growth Rate of 5 Percent

* Second Quarter CPOV Sales Increase 8 Percent Year-Over-Year * June 2004 CPOV Sales Up 9 Percent Compared to June 2003

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., July 29 -- Chrysler Group reported year-to-date 2004 sales of Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles (CPOV) at 50,084 units, an increase of 13 percent compared to the same period in 2003 when 44,458 vehicles were sold. Second quarter Chrysler Group CPOV sales increased 8 percent to 24,962 units compared to the same period last year. Monthly sales for June improved 9 percent to 7,756 units.

"Our CPOV sales increase of 13 percent for 2004 proves that consumers recognize the value of our certified vehicle program. The long term warranty assistance is seen as genuine, comprehensive and superior to what is offered by some of our competitors," said Ray Fisher, Chrysler Group Vice President - Fleet and Remarketing. "We are growing twice as fast as the industry rate and faster than our four largest competitors. Our complete warranty and customer assistance package are a big contributor to that growth."

Marketed as "Brand Spankin' Used," Chrysler Group's Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles, are sold only through the Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep dealerships who have earned the Five Star Certification. Five Star Certification is a comprehensive validation of the dealership's facilities, operational processes, salesperson and technician training accreditation as well as customer satisfaction survey ratings. Approximately 2,400 Chrysler Group dealerships in the U.S. are certified as Five Star.
