Sprint Cars Return to SSP on Thursday for YCRC Nostalgia Night
NEWBERRYTOWN, PA (July 20, 2004) – This Thursday night, July 29, SSP will
host the return of the 410 Sprint Cars for the York County Racing Club
Nostalgia Night along with the Xtreme Enduro Stock Cars and Penn Mar Vintage Club
Tour Race. All Y.C.R.C. members will receive a $1.00 discount on general
admission tickets for the remainder of the 2004 racing season. A membership card
must be shown to receive the discount.
There will be a special victory lane celebration for Eric Stambaugh for his
first 410 Sprint Car career win on Thursday, July 15th. Stambaugh’s victory
lane was cut short due to rain that postponed the remainder of the evening.
Stambaugh is one of SSP’s “Young Guns” Club member along with Jim Siegel,
Brian Leppo and Brent Kluge. These young drivers have been very tough
against the “Outlaw Killers” Fred Rahmer, Lance Dewease, Greg Hodnett and Donnie
Kreitz. SSP has produced 7 different feature event winners in 12 events this
season.
Gates open in the pit area at 4:00 p.m. with the grandstand gates opening
at 5:00 p.m. Warmups begin at 7:00 p.m. with racing beginning promptly at 7:30
p.m. Grandstand ticket prices are Adults (18 & older) $12.00; Teens
(13-17) $8.00; Children (6-12) $4.00; and Children (5 & under) are free. SSP will
continue its Repeat Fan Discount in which there will be a $2.00 discount for
each person with a ticket stub from the July 25 event only. For example,
$2.00 off an Adult ticket for July 29 with and Adult ticket stub from the July
25 event. Returning fans are encouraged to write their name, address and
phone number on the back of the stub to be entered into a special drawing to be
held at the end of the season. Prizes will be announced soon. Pit pass
prices are $20.00 with a reduced price of $18.00 for all track license holders. A
track license is $25.00 for the year. There is no raindate for this event
due to the Sprint Car event scheduled at the Selinsgrove Speedway on Sunday.
The Susquehanna Speedway Park is located off I-83 to exit 32, then 1.4 miles
NW on SR382 to York Road, then 1.3 miles south. For more information,

SSP News and Notes:
- The Faster Pastor Race originally scheduled for Thursday, August 5 has
been postponed until Thursday, September 23 due to scheduling conflicts with
many Vacation Bible Schools. In its place, a twelve lap School Bus Race will
take place on Thursday night, August 5.
- The Trail Motors Open Competition 358/360 Open Challenge Race paying
$1,500 to win is scheduled for Thursday night, August 12 along with the Xtreme
Enduro Stock Cars and the EMMR Vintage Cars and Williams Grove Old Timers
Association. The winner of the first Trail Motors Open Comp Challenge Race on
May 27, Brad McClelland of Westminster, Maryland, can pick up the $500 bonus if
he can win this event as well.
- The post season awards for the 2004 SSP 410 Sprint Car Points Championship
will be three (3) 2005 Season Pit Passes for the championship team (Value =
$1,500). Drivers finishing second through fifth will receive two (2) 2005
Season Pit Passes (Value = $1,000 per team). Drivers finishing sixth through
tenth will receive one (1) 2005 Season Pit Pass (Value = $500 per team). The
complimentary driver’s pit pass for all licensec members will also be in
effect again for 2005.
