Nissan Names Katherine Zachary New Detroit Communications Manager

GARDENA, Calif.--July 27, 2004--Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA) today announced that Katherine Zachary has been appointed Manager, Corporate Communications, Midwest Region, at the automaker's offices in Farmington Hills, Mich.

Zachary's appointment is effective Aug. 2, 2004. Zachary will work at Nissan Technical Center North America, Inc., headquarters of the automaker's North American vehicle research and development operations.

She will be responsible for public relations activities in the northern Midwest and for the Nissan Technical Center.

Zachary will report to John Schilling, Manager Regional Public Relations. She will succeed Fred Standish, who earlier was named Director, Corporate Communications, at NNA headquarters in Gardena, Calif.

For the past five years, Zachary has worked for Ward's Communications, Inc., most recently as associate editor of WardsAuto.com, a daily subscriber-based on-line journal, and Ward's Automotive Reports, a weekly industry publication.

Before joining Ward's, Zachary wrote for Monday Morning Newspapers, the Oakland Press and the Gaylord Herald Times, all Michigan newspapers.
