Toyota ranks 9th among world's top 100 brands: BusinessWeek

NEW YORK July 24, 2004; Japan Today reported that Toyota Motor Corp came in ninth in a ranking of the world's most valuable brands with its brand value estimated at $22.67 billion in 2004, up 9% from 2003, according to a survey published in the latest issue of BusinessWeek.

As an automaker, Toyota held the top ranking, surpassing DaimlerChrysler AG's Mercedes brand. The German company's luxury car brand was listed 11th on the scoreboard of the top 100 global brands. (Kyodo News)
