                                 Kanaan Shows Championship Form
                                  In Fourth-Place Effort At Milwaukee

        WEST ALLIS, Wis. (July 25, 2004) -Championships are sometimes determined by the
races that aren't won, but rather, finished. Team 7-Eleven driver Tony Kanaan had such a
championship effort Sunday afternoon in earning a fourth-place finish at the Indy Racing League
(IRL) IndyCar® Series Menards A.J. Foyt Indy 225 at The Milwaukee Mile.
        ArcaEx teammate Dario Franchitti earned his first IndyCar Series victory by leading 111
of the 225 laps of the event. Buddy Rice was second and Sam Hornish Jr. finished in third
place.
        Kanaan started the event from the outside front row position and bolted the #11 Team 7-
Eleven Dallara/Honda/Firestone into the lead as the green flag fell. He maintained the lead for
the first 15 laps before slipping back to second place. While his car was quick, the perfect
balance in handling remained elusive. Nonetheless, Kanaan maintained a top-five standing
throughout the event.
        A key moment in Sunday's run occurred during a pit sequence on lap 147. Entering pit
lane in sixth place, the Team 7-Eleven crew provided service and returned him to the track in
the fourth position, gaining two key positions. He would maintain that position to the checkered
flag.
        With his fourth-place finish Kanaan continues his IndyCar Series points lead, holding a
64-point advantage over Buddy Rice (357-293). Klein Tools/Jim Beam teammate Dan Wheldon
lies third with 276 points.
        Kanaan and the rest of the IndyCar Series teams return to action next week at Michigan
International Speedway for the Michigan Indy 400. The event will be televised live by ABC
Sports, beginning at 3 p.m. EDT.

Tony Kanaan, #11 Team 7-Eleven Dallara/Honda/Firestone:
        "It was a long, tough race. But, seeing Dario win today was a win for me. That guy has
been through so much and he deserves this, so I'm very happy for him. For me, we just didn't
have the car to win today, but we scored some good points. When we can't win, that is what we
have to focus on and today we got everything we could for Team 7-Eleven."

Kim Green, President, Andretti Green Racing:
        "This is a tough race track. I love The Milwaukee Mile, but it's a tough little race track.
Tony didn't have a winning race car, but Team 7-Eleven did a fantastic job in the pits to keep
Tony up near the front. Tony used all the tools in the race car to try and keep pace with the
leaders and had to fight for his fourth place. But that's what you've got to do to win
championships. "
