Team 7-Eleven's Kanaan Qualifies on Front Row at Milwaukee

          Team 7-Eleven's Kanaan Records Front Row Starting Position;
          IndyCar® Series Points Leader To Line Up Second At Milwaukee

       WEST ALLIS, Wis. (July 24, 2004) - Team 7-Eleven driver Tony Kanaan turned
a qualifying lap of 168.597 miles per hour in the #11 Team 7-Eleven
Dallara/Honda/Firestone this afternoon at the historic Milwaukee Mile, which earned him
the outside front row starting position for Sunday afternoon's running of the Indy Racing
League® IndyCar® Series Menards A.J. Foyt Indy 225.
       Kanaan, who currently leads the 2004 IRL IndyCar® Series standings by 61
points over Klein Tools/Jim Beam teammate Dan Wheldon, will be making his third front
row starting appearance of the year and he will be gunning for a season-high fourth
victory.
       Honda-powered machines took the top three positions for Sunday afternoon's
event as Vitor Meira outran Kanaan for the pole with a speed of 169.338 miles per hour.
Buddy Rice (168.272 miles per hour) earned the third starting spot.
       The Menards A.J. Foyt Indy 225, round nine of the 2004 IRL IndyCar Series, is
set to go green at 3:45 p.m. (EDT) Sunday, with ABC Sports providing live broadcast
coverage of the 225-lap event beginning at 3:30 p.m. (EDT).

       "Team 7-Eleven did a great job to put the car on the front row. We did what we
were supposed to and the car was awesome, thanks to my engineers and my
teammates. All four of the Andretti Green drivers worked with each other throughout
qualifying, passing along what we each learned; that's why we're a team. I know a lot of
people get jealous about that, but that's what makes us a strong team. We're good
drivers, we work well together and we help each other. That's the good chemistry that
we have. Now we need to get ready for the race."

       "This is such a fantastic oval track. When you have a good race car and a good
driver, which we obviously have, you can normally stick the car up front. The entire
Team 7-Eleven crew has worked really hard to get a car that can qualify well. We
almost got it done. Second place is good in that we're starting on the front row and track
position is critical on this race track. Tony has shown that he can run up front, so we
have to keep him up front and hopefully we can be in a position to win the race."
