Liz Pinto Named Director Marketing and Communications at AIAG
DETROIT, July 22 -- Liz Pinto has been appointed director, marketing and communications at the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG), one of the global automotive industry's largest trade associations.
In this newly created position, Pinto will oversee the organization's strategic marketing and communications programs, as well as public and media relations. She will report to Andrew J. Cummins, executive director and CEO of AIAG.
"We are delighted to be able to bring aboard someone with such a broad range of expertise in all aspects of marketing and communications," said Cummins. "Liz's vast experience will be invaluable as AIAG's position grows in the global automotive industry."
Pinto has more than 20 years of progressive experience in marketing and communications for a number of industries, including automotive, retail, health care, educational, financial, restaurant and manufacturing. She was previously director-corporate communications for Oxford Automotive, a Tier 1 supplier of specialized metal-formed modules, assemblies and related services to the automotive industry.
Prior to Oxford, Pinto served in executive-level positions at various public relations firms, including president of Pinto Public Relations and August & Partners Public Relations. Early in her career, she was a staff reporter/editor for Automotive News.
Pinto holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from Oakland University. She is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and the Automotive Press Association. She resides in Troy, Mich.
