national organization representing companies in the $200 billion a
year, five million strong, auto aftermarket, among them: NAPA, Midas,
CARQUEST, AutoZone, Advance Auto, Jiffy Lube, O'Reilly's and CSK Auto
(Checker, Schucks, and Kragen). The Motor Vehicle Owners' Right to
Repair Act is about consumer choice; it gives independent garages
rights to the same repair information that is available to dealers. It
now has over 108 co-sponsors and is in the Subcommitee on Commerce,
Trade and Consumer Protection chaired by Florida Rep. Cliff Stearns.
