Delphi XM Roady2 Satellite Radio Now Available at Retail Stores Nationwide
Delphi XM Roady2 is the Smallest, Lightest and One of the Most Affordable Satellite Radios on the Market
WASHINGTON and TROY, Mich., July 20 -- XM Satellite Radio , America's No. 1 satellite radio service, and Delphi Corp. , a pioneer of in-vehicle entertainment and electronics, today announced that the much-anticipated Delphi XM Roady2 satellite radio is now available at retail stores nationwide.
The compact Roady2 (MSRP $129.99) is on average four times smaller than competing plug-and-play models on the market, and features the smallest satellite radio antenna available. The unit has a built-in wireless FM adaptor for easy connection to any vehicle in minutes. Additionally, Roady2 is the industry's first satellite radio receiver capable of displaying up to 20 customized stock quotes simultaneous with XM's 120 digital radio channels of commercial-free music and premier news, sports, and talk radio.
"The Delphi XM relationship has brought another breakthrough product to market," said Joseph Damato, director, consumer electronics, Delphi Product & Service Solutions. "Roady2 sets a new standard for small size and functionality -- making it the clear choice for consumers who want all the benefits of satellite radio without the bulk and complexity found in competitive designs."
The Roady2 is earning rave reviews from leading technology critics. The influential PC Magazine gives the Roady2 five stars, calling the unit a "brilliant device" and naming it an "Editor's Choice." The magazine praises the Roady2 for offering a tiny unit that boasts a wide variety of features, saying, "when small size matters most, the clear advantage lies with XM and the Delphi Roady2." In a separate review, Rolling Stone magazine lauds the Roady2 for its compact size, easy plug-and-play installation, and stock-quotes feature.
"The Roady2 is a fantastic device that not only gives you all of the music, news, sports, and talk radio that XM is known for, but for the first time, you can pick and choose stock quotes to be displayed on the screen while you listen to XM from coast to coast. When you consider how compact this device is and how many features it offers, it's clear that Roady2 is a must- have product," said Brian Shea, XM Vice President of Product Marketing and Distribution.
In addition to existing accessories, new home kits and portable audio systems for the Roady family of products will be available at retailers nationwide this fall.
Delphi also manufactures the critically acclaimed Delphi XM SKYFi receiver, the best-selling portable satellite radio in the industry, and the new Delphi CD Audio System, the industry's first system to offer XM Satellite Radio along with a CD/CDR/MP3 player and AM/FM tuner.
