Autobytel Taps Former La Opinion.com Online Editor Patricio Zamorano to Lead Hispanic Auto Content

Acclaimed Web Editor to Bolster Company’s Industry-Leading Hispanic
Marketing Efforts

IRVINE, CA ? July 14, 2004 ? Autobytel Inc. today announced that it has
hired former La Opinion.com editor Patricio Zamorano to the newly
created position of Hispanic Automotive Content Manager. Zamorano will
work with Autobytel’s Hispanic Outreach Manager, Angela
Linares-Jacobson, to help expand the company’s Spanish-language
information and marketing initiatives, including a re-launch of the
Autobytel "En Español" automotive channel and the ongoing development of
content/fulfillment partnerships with Hispanic OEM consumer sites and
automotive portals. Autobytel is the Internet's largest new car buying
service and generates over a billion dollars a month in car sales for
dealers through its services.

Zamorano is credited with helping La Opinion.com become the leading
online newspaper for the U.S. Latino market, preparing and posting more
than 100 articles a day and a substantial number of supplements and
channels during a three-year period that saw permanent monthly site
traffic numbers increase from fewer than 100,000 to more than 700,000
users and 4 million page views. Highlights of his tenure include live
coverage of the 2002 Soccer World Cup and 2003 Latin Grammy's, as well
as the development of popular health, entertainment and news channels
and a complex community calendar tool that enables Hispanic community
organizations to upload information about their upcoming activities and
events. In 2002, Yahoo! also named Laopinion.com the "Best Site of the
Year" in the category of News & Media! Zamorano also developed a range
of targeted ad platforms on the site, attracting an impressive slate of
marketing partners that included Universal Studios, Aeroméxico,
Beech-Nut, Kaiser Permanente, and Blue Cross of California. He also
managed content exchange partnerships with AOL Latino, Yahoo! en
Español, MSNBC, and the BBC.

"We’re excited to add a force in Hispanic web journalism to our team,"
said Michael Rosenberg, Autobytel Inc. vice president of marketing.
"Patricio’s hiring signals our intent to be the standard bearer when it
comes to Spanish automotive information and consumer resources."

"Autobytel is one of the few online automotive companies that’s
seriously committed to providing comprehensive Spanish content and tools
for its Hispanic web visitors, and one of fewer still that’s making a
serious investment in original Spanish content created expressly for
Hispanic shoppers," noted Zamorano. "I’m looking forward to providing
Hispanic shoppers with the tools and information they need to make
smart, confident decisions when it comes to their second-largest
lifetime purchase, and to helping Autobytel’s marketing partners tap
into this exploding consumer segment."

Autobytel Inc. was the number one new car research and buying
destination for Hispanic shoppers throughout 2003—attracting over
750,000 unique monthly visitors on average each month —or approximately
1 in 5 of all Hispanic automotive web site visitors. Autobytel’s
Spanish tools and data also power Ford and Honda’s Hispanic sites, as
well as the automotive channel at Terra.com.
