Texaco/Havoline Racing Fast Facts:
* Chassis #208: Crew Chief Donnie Wingo and the Texaco/Havoline
team are bringing chassis #208 to compete in the New England 300 at New
Hampshire International Speedway. Chassis #208 is a short-track car that
is making its first appearance in 2004.
* McMurray Notes: McMurray heads into Loudon sitting 13th in
NASCAR NEXTEL Cup points, 105 points out of the NASCAR Top 10. The
Joplin, Mo. native has posted four top-five and nine top-10 finishes
through the first 18 races of the 2004 season. McMurray qualified third
and finished 10th in his last visit to New Hampshire International
Speedway (9/14/03).
* Pulling Double Duty: McMurray will be pulling double duty this
weekend at New Hampshire International Speedway as he will pilot the No.
66 Dodge in the NASCAR Busch Series race on Saturday before climbing
behind the wheel of the No. 42 Texaco/Havoline Dodge for Sunday's New
England 300.
* A Month of Testing: McMurray and the Texaco/Havoline team spent
this past Monday and Tuesday testing at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway
in preparation for next month's Brickyard 400. The team will test at
Watkins Glen next Tuesday following the Loudon race.
Jamie McMurray Quotes:
Loudon Thoughts: "We didn't test at Loudon, but my teammate Sterling
Marlin did, and they had a pretty good test, so we were able to use some
of their notes to get the Texaco/Havoline Dodge ready for this weekend.
We had a really good run last fall at Loudon, finishing 10th. I like the
track, but it's hard to pass on, so track position is going to be
important."
"We're heading into the stretch of races that will determine the cut-off
positions for the Chase for the Championship. We're sitting 13th in
points right now, but have the top 10 in reach. We can't afford to have
any more DNF's. We've got to step it up and come out of the box strong
each week to get into the top 10."
