Texaco Ursa Premium TDX, Ursa Super Plus and Chevron RPM Meet Upcoming CI-4 PLUS Diesel Engine Oil Specification

SAN RAMON, Calif.--July 19, 2004--ChevronTexaco Global Lubricants, a leading provider of heavy-duty engine oils, lubricants and coolants, today announced that Texaco Ursa(R) Premium TDX SAE 15W-40, Ursa(R) Super Plus SAE 15W-40 and Chevron RPM(R) heavy-duty Motor Oils SAE 15W-40 meet the upcoming CI-4 PLUS specification. CI-4 PLUS is an update of the CI-4 standard that primarily improves soot thickening performance in new low-emission engines. The new standard is scheduled to take effect in September of 2004.

Last month, ChevronTexaco was the first to introduce a CI-4 PLUS compliant oil when it announced the new formulation of its Chevron Delo(R) 400 Multigrade SAE 15W-40 meets the CI-4 PLUS specification. With today's announcement, ChevronTexaco Global Lubricants is the first to announce that its full line of heavy-duty diesel engine oils meets the upcoming industry specification.
