LARRY MORGAN NO. 7 IN DENVER

MORRISON, Colo. (July 17, 2004) - With only two qualifying sessions held
today following the rain-cancelled rounds on Friday, Larry Morgan qualified
his Team Mopar Dodge Stratus No. 7 in the Pro Stock field for the Mopar
Mile-High NHRA Nationals, with a 7.190-second run at 191.57 mph.

He was fourth in today's first session with that time, but was unable to
improve in the final session, slowing to a 7.205/191.70. The session was
halted past the midway point for rain sprinkles.

"The first session we ran fairly well," he said, "but the second run
everybody slowed down after the rain. We're not quite sure why. We're
thinking about changing engines. We weren't real bad, but we weren't real
good either. That's why we're thinking about changing engines. We just ran
so horrible in the front half of the track. Kenny Koretsky (who runs one of
our engines) ran a .17 (and qualified third), and I ran a .20 and ran more
speed than he did. Hopefully we can figure it out tonight."

Morgan will meet JR Carr in the first round of eliminations, which begin at
12:30 p.m. on Sunday.
