INFINEON QUALIFYING REPORT

Qualifying Time Disallowed… GMAC/Trenton Forging #5 GTO Will Start Last
Technical infraction DQ’s qualifying time.

Sonoma, Calif. – July 16, 2004 Citing a wing height infraction,
officials disallowed the qualifying time of the GMAC/Trenton Forging #5
GTO. The car was attempting to qualify for Sunday’s SPEED World
Challenge GT Round 4 in conjunction with the Grand Prix of Sonoma at
Infineon Speedway. The race will air on SPEED, Sunday July 18 at 1pm
EST.

“It’s unfortunate,” said Stu Hayner, driver of the GTO. “It wasn’t any
sort of competitive advantage… in fact given our under steer problems
it may have been a hindrance. The wing cannot be higher than the car’s
roof. I’m not sure how we missed it, but we did. It was simply an
oversight by the crew. Other than that, the car is pretty good. We ran
slightly quicker than our practice times… we would have started 17th.

“This will be ok… with the standing start format, starting in the back
is not all that bad,” laughed Hayner. “We’ll work our way back up
through the pack and with the way the car has run this weekend, I
anticipate a good finish.”

In other event activity, the team is releasing a new #5 GTO/Stu Hayner
souvenir poster to given free to fans attending the Infineon race and
next week’s event in Portland.
