           Franchitti Qualifies ArcaEx Car Seventh For Nashville Race;
            'Hometown' Driver Set To Make First Start at Home Track

       LEBANON, Tenn. (July 16, 2004) - ArcaEx driver Dario Franchitti recorded a
lap of 199.089 miles per hour in qualifying this afternoon at the 1.33-mile Nashville
Superspeedway, which earned him the seventh starting position for Saturday
evening's running of the Firestone Indy 200.
       Franchitti, a native of Scotland who now makes his home in nearby Franklin,
Tenn., will be making his first starting appearance at his adopted hometown track.
He missed the 2003 event while recovering from a back injury suffered during an off-
track incident
       Honda-powered machines took the top five positions for Saturday evening's
event as Buddy Rice won the pole with a speed of 201.231 miles per hour, Vitor
Meira was second (200.967) and XM Satellite Radio teammate Bryan Herta
(200.955) earned the third starting spot.
       The Firestone Indy 200, round eight of the 2004 IRL IndyCar Series, is set to
begin at 7 p.m. (EDT) Saturday, with ESPN providing live broadcast coverage of the
200-lap event.


Dario Franchitti, #27 ArcaEx Dallara/Honda/Firestone:
       "I'm very surprised to be starting seventh. The balance of the car felt very
good, but we just didn't have everything we needed today. I thought we might have
run a bit quicker than we did, but to start as high as seventh shows that a lot of other
people had problems, too. Being my first time here, I've had to learn a lot in just one
day. This (Nashville Superspeedway) is my 'home' track, so it's going to be nice to
get to race in front of so many friends and family members."

Kyle Moyer, General Manager, Andretti Green Racing:
       "People have to remember that Dario has only had an hour-and-a-half of track
time here (at Nashville Superspeedway). We tested here four times last year with our
other three drivers, and Dario has an hour-and-a-half.  Seventh is nothing to shake a
stick at.  We're talking one-tenth of a second and we're right there in third place. I
think we're going to be really strong tomorrow."
