Stoneridge, Inc. Increases the Size of its Board to Nine Members With Appointment of New Director

WARREN, Ohio, July 15 -- Stoneridge, Inc. announced today that Douglas C. Jacobs has been appointed to the Company's Board of Directors to fill the vacancy created by the expansion of the Board to nine members. Jacobs will be a member of the Board's Audit Committee. He is a certified public accountant and holds an MBA from Case Western Reserve University.

Jacobs is executive vice president, finance for the Cleveland Browns. Prior to joining the Browns in 1999, he served as executive vice president of Gucci Timepieces (America) Inc. from December 1997 to January 1999 and as president of the Severin Group (dba Gucci Timepieces) from April 1996 to November 1997. After serving two years as an officer in the U.S. Navy, Jacobs began his 33-year career with Arthur Andersen in Cleveland in 1963 and became managing partner of the Cleveland office in 1977. In 1978, Jacobs relocated to California to become managing partner of Arthur Andersen's Orange County, California office. Shortly thereafter, he also assumed oversight responsibility for several additional Arthur Andersen offices in the western United States. Jacobs sits on the Board of Directors of Standard Pacific Corporation, a national home builder based in Southern California.
