WINDSOR, ON, July 15, 2004; Increase the V-8 power offerings, add an all-new design, decrease the price and you have Dodge's formula for a market leader.Dodge announced pricing today for its all-new 2005 Dodge Dakota, the largest, most powerful and most capable mid-size pickup in the market. With a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $25,180, the all-new 2005 Dodge Dakota is the lowest-priced truck with a V-8 engine in the marketplace. The all-new 2005 Dodge Dakota delivers full-size pickup styling, feel and power with the only V-8 in its class and best-in-class torque, horsepower and towing. The Dakota can be equipped with the choice of three engines: the 3.7-litre Magnum V-6, the 4.7-litre Magnum V-8 and the 4.7-litre High Output Magnum V-8. The all-new 2005 Dodge Dakota arrives in showrooms this fall.

2005 Dodge Dakota ST --------------------The gateway to the mid-size pickup segment, the Dodge Dakota ST comes standard with 16-inch wheels and an all-new six-speed Getrag manual transmission (late availability) paired with the powerful 3.7-litre Magnum V-6 rated at 210 horsepower and 235 lb.-ft. of torque. The 4.7-litre V-8 Magnum engine which is rated at 230 horsepower and 290 lb.-ft. of torque is also available.
Available features include tilt steering wheel, cruise control, UConnect(TM) hands-free communication (late availability), dual rear seats, sliding rear window, trailer tow package, four-wheel ABS, and two-row side curtain airbags. Dodge Dakota will also be the first mid-size pickup to offer heated cloth seats.
