Delphi Europe Appoints Key Executives
Senior appointments strengthen commitment to European OEMs, France
TROY, Mich., July 12 -- Delphi Corporation has appointed two new customer directors to service key European accounts, and named a new general director for Delphi France.
CUSTOMER DIRECTORS* Catherine Dupont-Gatelmand, 50, is named PSA Peugeot - Citroen global customer director for Delphi. She will report to Volker Barth, Delphi president, Europe, Middle East & Africa, and to Timothy F. Richards, Delphi vice president, sales & marketing. Dupont-Gatelmand was previously diesel operations director, Delphi Energy & Chassis. In this new function, Dupont- Gatelmand replaces Jean Cazade. Dupont-Gatelmand began her career as a researcher at the CNRS (French Scientific Research Center) in France in 1978 and at the same time became a Scientific Advisor at Renault Automation. She held various executive positions in the technical and operations areas, always in the automotive arena, in Renault from 1985 and in Sommer-Allibert/Faurecia from 1997 before joining Delphi in 2003. She earned a Master of Economics and a doctorate in mathematics from Paris University in 1978. She attended the Advanced Management Program at INSEAD Fontainebleau, France, in 1989.
* Jerome Rischard, 42, is named Renault and Renault - Nissan Purchasing Organization global customer director for Delphi. He will report to Barth and Richards. Rischard was previously customer marketing and service manager, Delphi France. In this new function, Rischard replaces Jean Cazade. Rischard held various engineering positions both in the United States and in France before joining Delphi in 1991. He earned a Master of Science in electrical engineering from California State University in San Jose, in 1987, and an executive MBA from ESSEC Paris in 1995. He also participated in the International Executive Programme at the INSEAD Fontainebleau, France in 2003.
GENERAL DIRECTOR, DELPHI FRANCE
* Remi Kaiser, 61, succeeds Jean Cazade as general director for Delphi France, in addition to his current responsibilities as engineering, quality & environment director for Delphi Europe, Middle-East and Africa. He will continue to report to Barth. Kaiser held various executive positions at the Transportation Research Institut-Inrets and at Renault before joining Delphi in 1993. Earning an engineering degree from the Ecole Centrale Nantes in France, Kaiser later received a Master of Science in mechanical engineering from the California Institute of Technology as a Fulbright Fellow.
In a related move, the company also announced that after 37 years of service, Jean Cazade, general director of Delphi France and customer director for PSA Peugeot Citroen and Renault, will retire effective November 1. Until then, Cazade will continue to play a key and active role in the organization.
"Jean Cazade has provided tremendous leadership as Delphi has worked to strengthen its customer relationships in Europe," Barth said. "He successfully increased our business with PSA Peugeot-Citroen and Renault during his time as customer director. We are fortunate to have a smooth transition during which time Jean will provide support to Jerome and Catherine as they assume their new responsibilities."
Since becoming an independent company in 1999, Delphi has increased its business in Europe by more than 50 percent and has diversified its European customer base so that no single customer accounts for more than 20 percent of regional sales.
