Paul Newman Wins 'Tough Break' Award

Wilton, CT- Paul Newman [number 79 Happy Hands Massage Corvette] had everyone on their feet cheering for the first part of the American GT Challenge Race at Lime Rock Park over the Fourth of July Weekend. Assured of a podium finish as the fourth place competitor was loosing ground, Newman’s race was cut short when his gearbox broke. Oil began spilling into the cockpit causing for slippery conditions both inside the car and on the tires.

The number 79 Chevy Corvette was forced to retire with just over the halfway mark. Newman finished the event in fifteenth place.

NewGMParts.com awards $750 dollars cash to the competitor that suffers the most during a race due to mechanical difficulties. The award was designed to help all racers and not just the fastest or best funded people in the race. Ironic that one of the fastest but bettert funded drivers on the track will receive it for Lime Rock.
