IBM Japan, Dassault Systemes Develop Vehicle Design Management System for Nissan Diesel
Tokyo July 8, 2004; (JCNN) - IBM Japan and Dassault Systemes of France announced on July 8 that Nissan Diesel has deployed a vehicle design management system based on ENOVIA, a PLM (product lifecycle management) solution developed by IBM and Dassault.
ENOVIA and its digital mock-up navigator function provides Nissan Diesel with manufacturing simulation capabilities to detect any problems in the earlier stages of the product lifecycle.
The system has successfully reduced the time to create vehicle layouts by 90% for Nissan Diesel. The automaker will expand this solution to achieve greater cost efficiency in development.
