NAVTEQ Launches Navigable Map of Hong Kong

CHICAGO, July 6 -- NAVTEQ, a leading global provider of digital map data for in-vehicle navigation, Internet/wireless, business and government solutions, launched its first map of Hong Kong. With digital maps available for more than 40 countries, NAVTEQ also offers maps of Singapore, Malaysia and Taiwan in Asia.

NAVTEQ's map of Hong Kong contains over 2,000 kilometers of roadway and provides navigable digital map coverage of almost 60% of the population. The Hong Kong map includes the road network and up to 160 attributes for a majority of the country's most populous areas including the Central & Western, Eastern, Southern, Wan Chai and Islands districts along with Kowloon City, Kwun Tong, Sham Shui Po, Wong Tai Sin, Yau Tsim Mong and Kwai Tsing. Of the approximately 5,800 Points of Interest (POIs) embedded in NAVTEQ's map of Hong Kong, some of the most notable include the Tian Tan Buddha, Temple Street Night Market, Star Ferry, Victoria Peak Tram, Happy Valley Racecourse and the Hong Kong Heritage Museum.
