Marc Lieb - Lime Rock race

Marc Lieb scored his second American Le Mans Series podium of the 2004 season
after a caution-filled race at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, Conn. Lieb, of
Leipzig, Germany, said he liked the short 1.54-mile road course, despite the
difficulties it presented.

"Crazy! I like the downhill section. It is a real challenge to get through
there fast; you have to be brave," he said. "There are a lot of bumps and the
racing surface is very tight. The concrete portions are slippery, almost like
going over patches of rain."

Lieb's co-driver, Romain Dumas of France, qualified the No. 24 Alex Job
Racing Porsche 911 GT3 RSR on the GT class pole with a lap time of 54.659 seconds.
He had a strong start, but lost the class lead when he pitted for rain tires
after 18 minutes of the two-hour 45-minute race, then returned to pit lane for
a penalty because of a fueling violation during the stop. The penalty,
combined with drying track conditions that left the rain tires at a disadvantage,
dropped him back to sixth in class.

Lieb took over after 46 minutes and moved up to second before handing back to
Dumas just past the two-hour mark. He returned to the track in third place
and made up two lost laps, but was unable to improve his position. The duo
finished third in class.

"I think Romain and I drove a fantastic race today; we were really up there
in the front doing fast lap times," Lieb said. "We lost the whole race in the
pit lane, and that's what we have to work on. It's amazing how many positions
we lost in the pit lane and still finished third. I'm really disappointed
because this was our race. We were fast here and we should have won this one. If we
can sort out the mistakes, we can win races, that's for sure."
