Lexus June 2004 Sales on Record-Breaking Pace
TORRANCE, Calif., July 1 -- Continuing with its record-breaking sales pace, Lexus today posted best-ever June sales of 23,067 vehicles, up 5.7 percent from June 2003 and representing its twelfth consecutive month of record sales.
"Importantly, all of our U.S. sales areas posted best-ever June sales, which demonstrates the depth of the Lexus dealer organization throughout the country as they continue to grow their facilities and services," said Denny Clements, Lexus group vice president and general manager.
Lexus strong second quarter results lifted total new vehicle calendar- year-to-date (CYTD) sales 16.1 percent. Lexus passenger cars showed an increase of 0.8 percent in June, led by the LS 430 with the largest gain in the Lexus lineup of 50.2 percent on sales of 2,486. Also gaining strength was the ES 330 with sales of 6,036, a 5.0 percent gain.
All Lexus luxury utility vehicles showed significant increases giving Lexus light trucks overall a best-ever June. The segment-leading RX 330 continues to set new records of its own with best-ever June sales of 8,760 vehicles, an increase of 14.1 percent. The mid-size GX 470 also posted best-ever June sales with 2,502 vehicles sold, up 1.3 percent. And Lexus' premium LX 470 gained 5.7 percent in June with sales of 673 units.
In addition to strong new vehicles sales, Lexus Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) vehicle sales totaled 3,823, an increase of 1.9 percent and a best-ever month of June. CPO sales are up 10.4 percent CYTD.
