Clean Air Power's Dual-Fuel Vehicles Recognized by Natural Gas Vehicle Association Award

LEYLAND, England, July 1 --

- Natural Gas HGVs Gaining Wider Acceptance in UK

Clean Air Power, the industry leader in natural gas heavy goods vehicles (HGV) for the diesel market, announced today that ACC Distribution, part of the Co-Op Group, was awarded the 2004 Natural Gas Vehicle Association Award for its leadership in the commercial operation of HGV natural gas vehicles in the UK. The company's large fleet includes 60 Clean Air Power Dual-Fuel(TM) heavy goods vehicles.

The award, given for the first time this year, was presented to ACC Distribution at the prestigious IGEM/SBGI Gas Industry Awards Lunch, held in April in London. Ken Thompson, ACC Distribution's group transport manager, received the award. ACC Distribution has been a long-time supporter of Clean Air Power's Dual-Fuel technology in the UK. The company currently has 60 Dual-Fuel trucks in its fleet and has procured an additional 40 units scheduled for conversion to Dual-Fuel later this year.

Clean Air Power's Dual-Fuel technology enables diesel engines to operate on natural gas and diesel fuel simultaneously, achieving substantial fuel savings and full diesel efficiency. As a result, UK customers are experiencing 10,000 to 15,000 Pounds Sterling annual fuel cost savings from their Dual-Fuel vehicles. The system has been Euro 4 certified for more than a year.

"While others offer dedicated natural gas or other alternative fuel technologies, none have the experience nor the performance that Clean Air can substantiate," said Dan Kabel, Clean Air Power's chief executive officer. "Our combination of fuel savings and diesel cycle performance makes a compelling case in the UK HGV market."

"With over 2,000 heavy-duty Dual-Fuel installations and many years of experience, we are the natural gas HGV leaders," Kabel continued. "Our first UK customers have now validated the true economic and reliability benefits of Dual-Fuel and have placed multiple repeat orders. The follow-on orders validate the unparalleled performance of our Dual-Fuel trucks."

Clean Air Power is the only company in the world to offer a Euro IV-certified heavy-duty diesel engine. In cooperation with Foden Trucks, a division of Paccar UK, Clean Air installs its patented Dual-Fuel system for operation on natural gas (both compressed and liquefied) in its Leyland factory. Added utility and reliability comes from the systems unique ability to operate on Dual-Fuel or diesel mode depending upon fuel economics and gas availability. The Dual-Fuel system is available direct from Clean Air Power or through select Foden dealers.
