AGT CELEBRATES JULY FOURTH WEEKEND AT LIME ROCK PARK

Wilton, CT- When the American GT Challenge series heads to scenic Lime Rock Park this coming weekend for the July 2-3 event, it will roll into town with a provisional entry list of several cars. Amongst those entries will be the traditional big bore muscle cars of the AGT, driven by names all too familiar to fans.

The AGT will visit Lime Rock for the first time as part of its inaugural season. While the event may be the series’ first at the facility, the competitors bring a history of experience and success. Jack Busch [number 05 Leifert Motorsports/Spiral Turbo baffles/SpectroOils Cutlass] will look to back up his recent win at the last AGT event held at Pocono. Busch a regular competitor at Lime Rock, will be one of the early pace setters for the weekend.

Mike Luftman [number 31 Hip National Bank Camaro] will make his second start in the AGT series. "Lime Rock Park is a great venue," said Luftman. "Not only is it one of the nicest courses for spectators, but it's also a deceptively challenging track: the uphill, the diving turn and Big Bend are among the most intimidating corners any driver will face. I look forward to a great race, a really good show for the spectators and a terrific showcase for the AGT series."

New to the AGT series will be Garrett Kletjian. Kletjian will bring his number 20 Hardshell Motorsports Huffaker Mangusta to the event. The Mangusta is the former sister car to Brian Simo, a former champion. For Garrett, the AGT represent a professional racing series with an exceptional value.

"I am really excited about racing with the AGT," said Kletjian. "The series is really inexpensive for a professional level series. I think the competition at Lime Rock will be great. I have run against most of these guys in the past, and they are fierce competitors."

For Bill Rozmajzl ( Pronounced, Rose-my-zull) the AGT event will see the fulfillment of a desire to be part of series using the AGT style of cars. "Many, many things are running through my head about this AGT race," commented Rozmajzl. "I feel very grateful to Woodson for being able to put on a series like this, especially on the same weekend as the ALMS. The spectators will get to see just how fast and exciting the AGT cars really are."

"I've always felt that the AGT cars are to road racing what Winston Cup cars are to oval racing. One still gets to see the same intense competition, with an interesting mix of right and left-hand turns. There's also brand-identification with the Camaros, Corvettes, Mustangs and Cutlasses, not to mention the Jaguars and Mangustas.
For me personally, being able to race a Trans-Am type car has been a lifelong dream and being able to participate in the AGT is just icing on the cake. These cars are an absolute blast to drive!" stated Bill.

Others to watch with extensive Lime Rock experience include Paul Newman [number 79 Happy Hands Massage Corvette]. Newman is a veteran of LRP with several wins and numerous laps around the circuit. Frank Cioppetinni [number 6 Victoria Motorsports/Clover Enterprises Camaro] will make his AGT debut at Lime Rock. Cioppetinni but has a resume that includes various wins and races in AGT style cars. Charlie Webster will bring his C.J. Webster of Canada Corvette to Lime Rock. Webster comes to LRP following his AGT debut at Mosport where he qualified and finished second in the event.

The AGT races on July 3 at 11:40AM at Lime Rock Park as part of the New England Grand Prix.
