Exide Technologies and Club Assist Sign New Agreement
LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J., June 30 -- Exide Technologies , ( http://www.exide.com/ ), and Club Assist PTY Ltd. have signed a new, five-year global battery supply agreement. Exide Technologies is a global leader in stored electrical-energy solutions. Club Assist Corporation is the largest battery retailer and service provider to Auto Clubs throughout the world. The two organizations have had a partnership since 1992.
The global agreement calls for Exide to supply replacement automotive starting batteries to the Club Assist organizations in the United States, Canada, Australia, the UK and Europe. Bringing together the best global practices of two world leaders in battery manufacturing and battery servicing, the organizations provide motorists with access to premium battery technology served through a global network of experienced technicians 24 hours per day / 365 days per year.
Both companies expect the agreement to provide a strong, strategic advantage in these new markets, where motorists demand a logistics model similar to the ones being implemented by Club Assist Corporation in other parts of the world.
Stuart Davies, Club Assist Corporation's Chief Executive Officer, and Brett Davies, Managing Director, anticipate substantial global growth of the Club Assist organization. As a result, they expect their organization to purchase a significant number of batteries from Exide Technologies during the next five years.
