Continental Hosts Fifth Annual Golf Outing to Benefit Paws With A Cause(R)

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., June 29 -- Continental, a leading automotive safety supplier, has raised more than $20,000 this year for Paws With A Cause(R) (PAWS) through its fifth annual charity golf outing, held at Great Oaks Country Club on Monday, June 28. More than $100,000 has been raised for PAWS over the five-year period.

Proceeds from the golf outing will cover expenses to train PAWS(R) Assistance Dogs and place them in a recipient's home. Fully trained dogs are currently valued at $18,000.

"We are committed to helping Paws With A Cause(R) achieve their goal of growing into an internationally recognized organization with increased capacity to provide service and hearing dogs to people in need," said Debra Martin, director of NPM Purchasing and Minority Development, Continental North America.

Continental executives hosted more than 100 golfers from a cross-section of Continental suppliers and local business and community leaders. Also in attendance were more than a dozen PAWS(R) Assistance Dogs and their trainers. More than 30 Continental employees acted as volunteers throughout the day to help ensure the event's success.

Paws With A Cause(R) trains Assistance Dogs nationally for people with disabilities and provides lifetime team support which encourages independence. PAWS(R) promotes awareness through education.
