"Kansas Speedway is a very fast track and I'm excited to get there and start racing. Last
year was a very awkward race, because it played out in fuel mileage exactly like we saw last
weekend at Richmond. But, I'm confident that I can keep doing for Team 7-Eleven what I've
been doing and extend my lead in the IndyCar Series championship."

Kansas marks Kanaan's 24th IndyCar Series start
Kanaan is the only IRL IndyCar® Series driver to have recorded a top-10 finish in all six
outings in 2004. His finishes include an eighth-place at Homestead-Miami on February 29,
a win at Phoenix on March 21, a second at Twin Ring Motegi on April 17, a runner-up
finish in the Indianapolis 500 on May 30, a victory at Texas on June 12 and a fifth-place
finish at Richmond on June 26.
Kanaan led a race-high 145 laps en route to victory at Texas to go along with 28 laps led
at Indianapolis and the 191 he led on the way to victory at Phoenix for a total of 364 this
season; he has completed all 1230 laps run in the IndyCar Series in 2004
Kanaan finished fourth in last year's Kansas Indy 300
Kanaan enters the Kansas event ranked first in the IndyCar Series point standings with
240 points; he leads his teammate, Klein Tools/Jim Beam driver Dan Wheldon, by 15
points (240-225)
Kanaan has three career IndyCar Series wins (Phoenix, 2003 and 2004, Texas 2004) and

there isn't any reason that we shouldn't continue to do so."
