Ford 'Year of the Car' Tour Rolls Into Baltimore
WHAT: Ford showcases three outstanding and diverse examples of its new "Year of the Car" products on the Baltimore stop of its summer North American tour -- the Ford Mustang, the Ford Five Hundred and the Ford Freestyle.
WHEN: Tuesday, July 6, 2004
WHO/WHERE: 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. - The 2005 Ford Mustang, Five Hundred and Freestyle will make their area debut in a display at downtown's McKeldin Square near the Inner Harbor. A selection of classic Ford Mustangs from the past 40 years owned by Baltimore owners will join the display. Media coverage is welcome, and Team Mustang engineer Keith Knudsen will be on hand to show off the cars and talk about the 40th anniversary of America's original Pony Car.
noon - 1:30 p.m. - Keith Knudsen will speak about the 40th anniversary of Mustang and discuss the new car in a speech to the Baltimore Rotary Club. Belvedere Hotel, downtown Baltimore.
SUMMARY: Ford is celebrating Mustang's 40th anniversary with a back-to- the-future design of the 2005 model. It's one of 40 new products the company will launch this fall, designated by Ford as "The Year of the Car." The swaggering Pony car legend, the all-new flagship Five Hundred sedan, and the Freestyle that bridges the gap between SUVs and traditional passenger cars, demonstrate the range of these products.
