Delphi Announces Organizational Changes
TROY, Mich., June 28 -- Delphi Corp. announced today the following new appointments within its organization:
GLOBAL SUPPLY MANAGEMENT
* Bill Lloyd, 56, is named director, global supply management, Delphi Europe, in Paris, effective Sept. 1. He will report to Michael J. Orris, executive director, global supply management, and Volker Barth, Delphi president, Europe, Middle East & Africa. Lloyd was previously director of machinery/equipment & indirect, global supply management, in Troy, Mich. Lloyd replaces Bill Eagen, who will be on special assignment starting Sept. 1, before retiring on Jan. 1, 2005. Lloyd began his career at the General Motors (GM) subsidiary, Holden, in 1973 in sales and marketing. He earned bachelor's degrees in liberal arts and law in 1969 and 1977 respectively, from the University of Sydney, Australia, and he earned a master's of business administration (M.B.A.) degree from the University of Melbourne in 1985.
* Kevin Smith, 47, succeeds Lloyd and is named Delphi's director of machinery/equipment & indirect, global supply management, in Troy, Mich., effective July 19. He will report to Jon Stegner, general director, global supply management. Most recently, Smith was vice president, supply chain management, with Dresser-Rand. Smith began his automotive career in 1983 as a buyer with Ford Motor Co. He also spent several years in management positions with Toyota in Georgetown, Ky., and also at United Technologies Corp. Smith received a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of California- Davis in 1978 and an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan in 1983.
SALES & MARKETING
* John Connor, 48, is named director, sales and marketing, Delphi Thermal & Interior, in Troy, Mich. He will report to Ronald M. Pirtle, president of Delphi Thermal & Interior and Delphi vice president. Connor was previously director, sales and marketing, Delphi Corp. in Troy, Mich. Connor succeeds Paul Kirsch, who has left the company to pursue other opportunities. Connor began his career in 1973 with GM as a General Motors Institute (GMI) student. He received a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from GMI (now Kettering University) in 1978 and an M.B.A. from the University of Detroit Mercy in 1984.
* Dave Maschoff, 45, succeeds Connor as director, sales and marketing, Delphi in Troy, Mich. He will report to F. Timothy Richards, Delphi vice president, sales and marketing. Maschoff was previously Delphi's customer director for DaimlerChrysler-Chrysler Group, in Troy, Mich. Maschoff began his career in 1979 as a college-graduate-in-training in finance for GM in Rochester, N.Y. He received a bachelor's degree in business administration from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 1980.
* Rafael Fernandez, 44, succeeds Maschoff as Delphi's customer director for DaimlerChrysler-Chrysler Group, in Troy, Mich. He will also report to Richards and support Delphi Vice Chairman Donald Runkle in his role as the company's DaimlerChrysler customer champion. Fernandez was previously director, European transition, in Wuppertal, Germany. Fernandez began his career with Delphi in 1998 as the North American sales director, Delphi Interior Systems division in Warren, Mich. Prior to Delphi, he was executive vice president of Findlay Industries. He received a bachelor's degree in liberal arts from the Universidad de Valencia in 1982.
All moves are effective July 1. MANUFACTURING
* Gay Terry, 55, is named director, production control & logistics, Delphi Energy & Chassis, in Troy, Mich. She will report to Guy Hachey, Delphi president, Energy & Chassis and Delphi vice president, and Mark Lorenz, Delphi vice president, operations and logistics. Prior to her new assignment, Terry served as plant manager for Delphi Energy & Chassis' Saginaw, Mich. operations. Terry began her automotive career with GM in 1972 as a college- graduate-in-training with the former Delco-Remy division in Anderson, Ind. Terry earned a bachelor's degree in psychology/sociology from Hampton University in 1970. She also earned a master's degree in psychometry from Ball State University in 1975.
* William Elia, 45, succeeds Terry as plant manager for Delphi Energy & Chassis' Saginaw, Mich. operations. He will report to Jeff Overly, manufacturing director, Delphi Energy & Chassis. Prior to his new assignment, Elia served as director, production control & logistics, Delphi Energy & Chassis. Elia began his automotive career at GM in 1983 as a supervisor of production in Flint, Mich. Elia earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Ferris State University in 1982.
Both moves are effective immediately.
