Stremme Narrowly Misses First Busch Series Victory at Milwaukee

West Allis, WI (June 27, 2004) – TRIMSPA driver David Stremme capped off an
incredible performance at The Milwaukee Mile Saturday night with a career best
second-place finish. Stremme began raceday by shattering the track qualifying
record in the TRIMSPA X32 Dodge, earning his first career Busch pole with a
lap around the one-mile oval in 29.375 seconds.

“Breaking the track record in qualifying was cool but somewhat unexpected,”
said Stremme. “We were really more focused on running well in the race that
night.”

Stremme fell to as low as seventh in the early stages of the race due to a
tight handling condition in the middle of the turns. However, Stremme was able
to power back into the lead on five separate occasions for a total of 73 laps.
Stremme battled for the lead against fellow NBS 24/7 driver Shane Hmiel for
the final 100 laps, narrowly avoiding wrecking on lap 222 when the TRIMSPA X32
got loose and slid up into the “marbles”.

“I got loose a couple of times toward the end,” admitted Stremme. “We didn’
t wreck but it cost us the win. At that point you are just trying so hard, you
are doing everything you can. I guess you have to lose some to win some, but
it’s tough to swallow because we had the dominant car.”

With worn tires, Stremme mounted a comeback in the final 20 laps from the
fourth position into the second. In the end, despite having the dominant car,
Stremme ran out of the laps necessary to claim his first Busch Series victory as
veteran driver Ron Hornaday slid by Hmiel and Stremme for the win.

“I am really proud of the TRIMSPA guys,” said Stremme. “They have been
working hard lately and it shows. This is a good boost for the TRIMSPA team, but I
can’t help but walk away feeling like I let this one slip away. We will have
to get them in Daytona”

Stremme’s career best second-place finish raised him five spots in the Busch
Series points into the 14th position. Team TRIMSPA will be back on track this
Friday for the Winn-Dixie 250 Busch Series race at Daytona International
Speedway. The event will be televised live Friday, July 2nd at 7:30 p.m. eastern
time on FX and will broadcast nationally at that same time on radio stations
affiliated with Motor Racing Network (MRN) and XM Satellite Radio Channel 144.
