GT-1 DRIVER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM RACER ROSS MURRAY FOURTH IN SECOND TRANS-AM
OUTING

SONOMA, Calif. (June 27, 2004) ‹ Ross Murray finished fourth in his second
Motorock Trans-Am Series start Sunday at Infineon Raceway. What was
remarkable wasnıt that he finished so well, so quickly. Instead, the
remarkable thing was that Murrayıs racing budget is probably less than a
quarter of the three cars ahead of him.

Murray made his first Trans-Am start at Long Beach earlier this year, but
was caught up in an early crash. Murray is part of the growing GT-1 Driver
Development program in the Trans-Am Series. The program is designed to help
further the career of the lesser-funded, mostly club-based GT-1 competitors.
Murray proved Sunday that lack of experience and funding neednıt be a
roadblock to success in the Trans-Am Series.

³I love these type of cars,² said Murray, driver of the No. 01 Greenberg
Cheese Dodge Viper. ³This is excellent.

³I had to come back after Long Beach,² added Murray, who with the top-five
finish takes the lead in the GT-1 Championship. ³I had to make amends.
Qualifying sixth was great. To back it up with fourth is just great.

Murray, as part of the program, was brought up to the podium and took part
in post-race festivities. He was also brought the media center after the
race and participated in the press conference.

³I feel deserving of having the accolades of this GT-1 champagne,² said
Murray, who is competing this year in the same Viper Tommy Archer drove in
2001. ³My fellow GT-1 competitors should see this as an opportunity. Itıs
great to have this kind of recognition from the Series.²

Murray hopes to compete in at least one more Trans-Am race this season,
possibly at Mazda Raceway Laguna-Seca.

The Motorock Trans-Am Series features closed-fendered, production-based,
V-8-powered sports cars, competing on permanent road courses, and temporary
street and airport circuits throughout North America. The Trans-Am Series is
Americaıs oldest continuously running road racing series and celebrates its
39th year of competition in 2004.
