LARRY MORGAN QUALIFIES FIFTH AT GATEWAY

MADISON, ILL. (June 26, 2004) - Driving the Team Mopar Dodge Stratus, Larry
Morgan qualified a strong fifth in Pro Stock after four qualifying sessions
were completed for Sunday's 12th round of the 2004 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing
Series.

Today's two rounds included a 6.768/203.34 pass and a 6.763/203.03 lap. With
Steve Johns posting a 206.07-mph run tonight, Morgan was disappointed with
the speed his car was producing, but not the qualifying position he earned.

"It wasn't as good as we thought. We're not running any speed," he said.
"Every engine we've got for some reason is running slow on speed. We'll find
out what's wrong with it. It's something in the car. We've tried three
different motors. They all run decent, they just don't run any speed.

"Everything we got out here that we rent (to customers) runs a mile an hour
more than we do."

Morgan will face Rickie Smith in the first round of final eliminations
tomorrow, which begin at 4:30 p.m.
