Joey Scarallo Seeks Repeat Performance at Infineon

JOEY SCARALLO SEEKS REPEAT PERFORMANCE AT INFINEON

SONOMA, Calif. (June 26, 2004) ­ Joey Scarallo, driver of the No. 06 ROH
Wheels/Group A Autotrend/Toyo Tires Chevrolet Corvette in the Motorock
Trans-Am Series, was seventh and ninth fastest, respectively, in todayıs
first- and second-round practices at Infineon Raceway. Scarallo recorded
1:17.315-minute lap (91.636 miles per hour) in first round, followed by a
lap at 1:16.672 minutes (91.942) in the second round. The sophomore Trans-Am
driver is looking at repeat performance here of his career-best fourth-place
finish in Portland last weekend.

³The schedule is tight this morning, and weıre just a little bit behind the
eight ball,² said Scarallo. ³Infineon was repaved, resulting in a much
tighter grip. We chased the set up just a bit, but we think weıll have
something for qualifying

³Our Baucom Motorsports team is making radical changes to the car for
qualifying,² added Scarallo. ³Those changes should net positive results this
afternoon.² 

A long-time racer, Scarallo has been in the driverıs seat since he was 11,
racing karts in the Long Island Karting Association, where he won three
championships in 1993. Scarallo also won championships in the International
Karting Federation in 1996, and he recorded three top-ten finishes in the
U.S. F2000 where he finished 14th in series points. He ran a limited
schedule in 1997, scoring 11th- and 12th-place finishes in his three starts.
Scarallo competed in the Toyota Atlantic Series in 2000.

The oldest of four siblings, Scarallo, 25, lives in Smithtown, N.Y. Scarallo
manages Autotrend Tire and Wheel Company Inc., his familyıs wheel importing
business in Lindenhurst, N.Y. The third round of the Motorock Trans-Am
Series Championship takes place on June 27 at 4:15 PDT, immediately
following the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series race.
