                     TEAM 7-ELEVEN'S KANAAN QUALIFIES 10th
                     AT RICHMOND INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY

       RICHMOND, Virginia (June 25, 2004) - Team 7-Eleven driver Tony Kanaan
turned a qualifying lap of 168.987 miles per hour tonight at Richmond International
Raceway, which earned him the 10th starting position for Saturday night's running of the
SunTrust Indy Challenge.
       Kanaan, who drove the #11 Team 7-Eleven Dallara/Honda/Firestone to victory in
the most recent Indy Racing League (IRL) IndyCar Series® event two weeks ago at
Texas, leads the 2004 IRL IndyCar® Series standings over Klein Tools/Jim Beam
teammate Dan Wheldon (210-175) as the series heads into the season's sixth race.
       Kanaan was one of eleven drivers to break the previous Richmond track record
of 168.705 mph. Helio Castroneves won the pole with a speed of 171.202 miles per
hour, 2004 Indianapolis 500 winner Buddy Rice qualified second (170.782) and rookie
Mark Taylor (170.683) earned the third starting spot.
       Round 6 of the IndyCar Series is set to begin at 7:55 p.m. (EDT) Saturday and
airs live on ESPN2 with coverage beginning at 7:30 p.m. (EDT).

Tony Kanaan, #11 Team 7-Eleven Dallara/Honda/Firestone:
       "Everything is just so tight, time-wise, at a two-day event that you have to get
everything sorted out very quickly. We didn't have an opportunity to test here (at
Richmond), plus it rained which shortened our track time. I got loose on my second lap
and had to check up off the throttle. It's a tough race track and qualifying is very
important.  I'm not a complainer, so we'll just get ready for tomorrow night's race. In the
past, Team 7-Eleven has had good races starting from the back, so we'll see if we can
do that again."

Kim Green, President, Andretti Green Racing:
       "Obviously, unless we are right up front we are tremendously disappointed. We
just didn't get the car quite right. Practice was pretty limited today, with the weather
conditions and changing track conditions because of the weather. Certainly, a lot of the
teams that are ahead of us did come here for an engine manufacturers test day, and we
didn't get to run that test day. That is certainly a disadvantage on a short oval and a
two-day event. The Team 7-Eleven crew will work very hard to come up with a good
race setup, because we know Tony Kanaan can win any race from any grid position."
